I’ve never used them because I have a FF already. they are around $ 70 to $ 100 which is less than a normal unit
It all depends on what you want it for. Me I dont need a great bottom picture (like a side scan) because I fish mainly in 1-3 ft of water. I really dont have fish swimming under the boat and dont fish ledges or brushpiles. I mainly use it for Depth and water temp. readings. If you bass fish and need to find structure you will use the sonar, or if you’re offshore you need to find ledges and hard bottom a nice one will be needed but its up to u
